The Yankees have long been known for having quality prospects, even if the farm system is in a bit of a lull currently. However, much of that talent, whether still with the Bombers or having been traded away, will represent various countries in the World Baseball Classic a month from today.

Additionally, many former Yankees and former Yankees minor league coaches will represent their respective countries, as well.

  • Former Yankees pitcher Graeme Lloyd will be Australia’s bullpen coach.
  • Former Yankees pitchers James Paxton and Jameson Taillon will both pitch for Canada and former catcher Russell Martin will be the 1B coach.
  • Former Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang will be Chinese Taipei‘s bullpen coach.
  • Former Yankees infielder Gio Urshela will represent Colombia.
  • Former Yankees MiLB coach Julio Borbón (1B Coach) will represent the Dominican Republic.
  • Former Yankees MiLB coaches Dillon Lawson (hitting coach) and Matt Talarico (1B coach) are with Great Britain along with Tanner Swanson (bench coach)
  • Former Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader will play the outfield, and Brad Ausmus (current Yankees bench coach) will manage for team Israel.
  • Former Yankees pitcher Adam Ottavino (will pitch), former Yankees infielder Jon Berti (will play the IF), catchers Francisco Cervelli (manager) and Jorge Posada (asst. hitting coach) will join former Yankees pitcher Dave Righetti (pitching coach) on Team Italy.
  • Former Yankees outfielder Jahmai Jones will play the outfield for Korea.
  • Former Yankees infielder Didi Gregorius will play the infield for The Netherlands.
  • Former Yankees MiLB managers Julio Mosquera (bench coach), Lino Diaz (3B Coach) & Raul Dominguez (1B coach) are with Team Panama.
  • Former Yankees pitcher Clay Holmes (will pitch), former Yankees infielder Paul Goldschmidt (will play INF), Core Four Yankee Andy Pettitte will be the pitching coach for Team USA.
