With All-Star Week upon us, Yankees fans have plenty to celebrate. New York will be well-represented in Atlanta: Aaron Judge, Max Fried, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. all earned spots on the American League (AL) All-Star team. Each has put up monster numbers in the first half of 2025, and every Yankee fan should be thrilled by their accomplishments. Meanwhile, the hot-hitting prospect George Lombard Jr. is heading to the All-Star Futures Game, giving fans a glimpse of the next Bronx superstar.

Aaron Judge – The Starting AL Right Fielder
Aaron Judge has absolutely torched the baseball at the plate thus far in 2025. He leads the league with a .360 batting average and a 1.202 OPS. He’s already hammered 33 home runs (second-most in MLB) and driven in 74 runs by early July. Even more astonishing, Judge’s batting-average-on-balls-in-play (BABIP) is a historic .467, the highest ever recorded in the modern era. In other words, not only is he hitting with elite power (33 long balls), he’s hitting almost everything in play for base hits. That level of performance puts Judge in rare company (only Babe Ruth’s 1923 season comes close) and makes him the deserving 2025 All-Star Game leading vote getter. Yankees fans know how Judge can change a game in one swing, and his first-half stats show he’s doing exactly that, leading the AL in average and OPS and ranking near the top in home runs and RBIs.

Max Fried – The Dominant Ace’s Return to Atlanta
On the mound, Max Fried has been nothing short of spectacular. Since joining New York, he’s gone 11-2 with a 2.27 ERA in 19 starts, easily the most wins in the AL and among the lowest ERAs in the game. Fried has logged 119.0 innings, struck out 111 batters, and carries a microscopic 0.96 WHIP. In fact, he leads the league in victories (11, tops in MLB) and his 2.27 ERA ranks among the AL’s best. That consistency and mastery on the bump is exactly why he’s an All-Star. Yankee fans remember Fried from his playoff heroics with Atlanta, and he’s carried that dominance to the Bronx.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. – An All-Star Shining Bright
Jazz Chisholm Jr. is batting .245 with 15 homers and 38 RBIs. That kind of pop, and his dynamic defense earned him an All-Star nod. Chisholm isn’t just slugging, he’s swiped 10 bases already, giving the lineup a real power-speed combo. His 15 home runs tie him for 39th in MLB (despite playing far fewer games), and his .841 OPS shows he’s contributing across the board. For a Yankees offense short on extra-base power outside Judge, Chisholm’s bat is a huge boost. He brings energy and flair, and 38 RBIs is no small feat in just half a season. Jazz’s All-Star selection rewards a blazing half-season where he’s been a key sparkplug for New York.

George Lombard Jr. – The Rising Star Representing the Baby Bombers
Yankees fans love a future star, and George Lombard Jr. fits that mold perfectly. The 20-year-old shortstop is the Yankees’ No. 1 prospect and was just named to the All-Star Futures Game roster. Lombard came out of the 2023 draft in the first round and has quickly risen through the system. This year between High-A and Double-A he’s hitting .242 with a .388 on-base percentage, adding 3 homers, 29 RBIs and 25 stolen bases. His combination of speed and discipline (he’s already walked 57 times) is outstanding. In fact, he leads all Yankees minor leaguers in runs (56) and walks (55), and ranks near the top in doubles, triples and steals. In other words, Lombard fills the box score. Those working within the baseball industry rave that his plus-contact swing, blazing speed, and improving defense make him an exciting future star. Now he gets to showcase his talents on a national stage: he’ll start at shortstop for the AL Futures team on July 12. Fans can keep an eye on his line drive swing and enthusiastic base-running, this kid is the real deal and represents the pinstripes at the futures showcase with pride.

The Other Guys
Other Yankees that will represent the organization that are not players include Aaron Boone, Joe Torre and Tim Lentych.
Boone, who was an All-Star as a player in 2003, will make his debut as a manager/coach. Currently in his eighth year as manager of the Yankees, he will become the club’s first manager to lead the AL All-Star squad since Joe Girardi at the 2010 All-Star Game.
Torre, who currently serves MLB as Special Assistant to the Commissioner, managed 29 seasons in the Major Leagues and led the Yankees to four World Series titles, six AL pennants, and 12 Postseason appearances in his 12 years as manager from 1996-2007. Following his legendary managerial career, he has worked for MLB since 2011. “Mr.T” has managed six AL All-Star teams, tied with fellow Hall of Famer Tony La Russa for fourth-most all-time behind.
Lentych, currently in his sixth season serving as the New York Yankees Head Athletic Trainer and his 22nd overall season with the organization. He most recently spent four seasons at the Major League level as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Yankees after serving as the club’s Minor League Head Athletic Trainer for Player Development from 2012-2015.
